The Angels Arrive

by Sandy Penny

Things were evolving at Sanctuary. People came to be fed emotionally, spiritually and physically. Some came for the Solar Nutrition meals, some for the weekly channeling of spiritual beings, some to learn how to connect with their own guidance and intuitive abilities, and others just needed the hugs. It was a place where everyone felt comfortable to hug anyone and everyone. No one ever needed to feel hug deprived. Intense spiritual conversations were the norm, and foot reflexology, shoulder rubs and psychic readings were everyday, all day occurrences. Whether you sought guidance or just needed encouragement, it was available at Sanctuary house.

Christmas was approaching, and Sandy was feeling financially challenged. Her salary just wasn't enough to cover everything that needed to be covered.

Rent and utilities were high for such a large house, the monthly pool maintenance cost, the food costs, not to mention the normal support of her children. It was a big nut to crack, but Sandy trusted that it would be taken care of in some way. She was making it, but there was no extra money to decorate the house or buy presents for the kids or just to really enjoy the abundance of their circumstances. She felt the burden of being the one responsible for all this, and she wasn't feeling as joyful as she would like. And the more she felt that way, the more difficult it became.

Spiritual Commitment ...

This angel painting was done by Arthur Douet, a friend and well-known visionary artist in Houston. Many of his original paintings resided at Sanctuary for easy access when he had a Houston show. He lived in Georgetown, Texas. We were blessed to experience the energy of his work on a daily basis. I had an interesting past life memory with him, and it led me to explore my past lives and help others explore theirs, but that's another story. We were fast friends until he died on Dec 31, 2013. I maintain an online memorial for him on Pinterest.

One night Sandy was scheduled to teach a class at The Chapel of Prayer, the little metaphysical church where she had learned and honed so many of her spiritual skills. A big deal had been made of the topic of her talk, and she was looking forward to a large group. On the way over to the Chapel, Sandy was tuning in to the group, and suddenly her guides announced, "You have to change your topic tonight."

"What?! We've already told everyone what the topic will be, and people are coming to hear this specific one. I can't change it now."

Her guide responded in a usual patient way, "You have to speak on the topic of commitment."

"But I prepared all the materials for the other topic." Sandy whined.

"It doesn't matter, the topic for tonight has to be commitment."

She sighed and rolled her eyes, but she knew she'd do whatever she got from her guides. She had learned to trust them, after so many leaps of faith.

She arrived at the Chapel, and as she expected it was a larger than normal group of people. She dreaded telling them she was changing the subject. The groups were usually set up in a circle, and that night was no different. A large circle was already formed when Sandy arrived. She sat down, called the group to order and told everyone to move to the chair across the circle.

People seemed confused, but Sandy explained that her guides had told her to change the subject on the way over, so she expected them to be willing to make a change too. They laughed and agreeably made the move. Then she announced, "The subject tonight has been changed too." Everyone groaned a little. "My guides told me the subject of tonight's group is commitment." She looked around, and everyone in the circle burst into tears. She was startled, but she smiled and said, "Well, I guess we hit the right target." It was another lesson in trusting the information that came through for her.

During the group, a woman Sandy had never met talked about the commitment she had to make when Mother Mary started showing up in her life, and pretty much turned it upside down. Her name was Claire Applegate. She said her husband did not approve of what she was doing, and other things were not right in their marriage. After a great deal of thought and work to exit the marriage with compassion and understanding, she went to stay with her brother. She now knew she had to make a commitment to her spiritual process. There was nothing else she could do; it felt right in her heart. Staying with her brother was not a long-term solution, and she was considering what the future might hold.

Sandy knew immediately what to say to her, "Why don't you come and live at Sanctuary for a while?"

"Really," Claire said, in total astonishment. "You don't even know me, why would you offer that?"

Sandy replied, "You know why, because my guides are telling me to do it, and it feels right to me too. Same as the commitments you are making to your process. It's meant to be."

She took down the information about Sanctuary, and visited on and off for a few months, getting to know us, and then moved in a few months later.

Claire was the first of many angels who showed up at Sanctuary and made it better than ever. She was amazing. Sandy shared a very large room with Claire, and when Claire slept at night, she made angel chirping noises. It was like a bird's song, but totally unique. The air would buzz with energy, and the room would fill with angelic beings listening to her beautiful voice. Claire also channeled a song from Mother Mary called Mary's Lullaby which has its own amazing story. You can listen to the song on her website, read the story, and buy her book for the expanded stories of her spiritual experiences. Mary's Lullaby.   Mary's Miracles & Messages.

P.S. Many years have passed since then, and Claire is now married to her wonderful, loving husband, Robert Papin, who she started dating at Sanctuary. But that's another story.
